Description & Requirements

As an Accounting Advisory Services (AAS) Director, you will help build our national accounting advisory services practice. Primary areas of focus will include business development efforts, recruitment, and development of team members, delivery of client service, and accountability for results of the practice.

To be a successful AAS Director, you should have a passion for client service and team building, be highly self-motivated while also motivating other team members, work well in cross-functional teams (both internal and client-facing), embrace technology, possess technical expertise commensurate with the role, and exemplify Forvis Mazars values.

How you will contribute:

Developing, in collaboration with the AAS MD, your personal plan and leading the implementation thereofLeading efforts to develop new client relationshipsLeading efforts to build, train and develop teamHaving accountability for quality control over projects and providing input to the practiceFinding a solution to problems in service delivery as they ariseProviding technical oversight on projects and advising on technical accounting in accordance with the respective accounting guidanceAdvising on intricate transactions including IPOs, SPACs, and other M&A transactionsCoaching team members to elevated levels of performance and being highly collaborativeBeing accountable for your personal results and how they support the AAS practiceAddressing administrative matters timelyIn conjunction with project team resources, addressing HR matters as they ariseWe are looking for people with Forward Vision and:

Demonstrated leadership ability, including leading multiple engagement teams simultaneouslyStrong problem resolution and collaboration skillsStrong accounting guidance research skillsStrong technical accounting background and willingness to learn new thingsEffective communication skills including strong verbal, listening, and writing skillsMinimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field10 years or more of experience in public accounting, accounting advisory, or departmental leadership for accounting and technical reporting for an SEC registrant or a company that underwent the IPO processHeld one or more prior leadership positions with oversight of multiple team membersStrong proven technical expertise in the areas of financial accounting, financial reporting, SEC reporting, M&A, or financial operationsExperience in leading communications with C-level client executivesPrevious business development experienceExperience working for or advising organizations through an initial public offeringAbility to travel as neededPreferred Qualifications:

A CPA licenseSEC financial reporting assistance including advising on Form S-1, S-4, 10-Q, or 10-Ks or foreign private issuer equivalents.Experience serving SPACs through the registration process and through de-SPAC transactionsAdvising on intricate financial reporting matters and technical accounting issuesDevelopment of technical memos and assistance with elaborate accounting calculations
