The Center for Urban Community Services, a national leader in the development of effective housing and service initiatives for homeless people, invites applications for Clinical Supervisor. CUCS provides comprehensive on-site social services using a recovery orientation, which includes evidence-based practices with particular emphasis on mental health and substance abuse recovery for singles, and a family systems approach for the families.
CUCS' 105 Washington Street Safe Haven is a new Safe Haven located in Manhattan's Financial District. The program will serve as temporary living space for 84 individuals experiencing street homelessness. The program will provide onsite psychiatric, primary care and intensive case management to participants, the majority of whom have psychiatric and substance use needs. All participants will receive assistance with placement into housing. Program operations will be 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Responsibilities:
The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of a clinical services housing team comprised of a licensed social worker and four case managers. Each staff manages a caseload of approximately 15 individuals who were formerly living on the street and in subways in New York City. This position has significant decision making, supervisory, administrative, program management and service delivery responsibilities including but not limited to site management, program development, inter-team coordination and contract/policy compliance. This person will be expected to participate in and contribute to a program culture that is client-centered, outcome-oriented and dedicated to continuous quality improvement. The position requires a thorough understanding of relevant service delivery concepts and structures, including strong knowledge and experience working with the street homeless population.Clinical and administrative supervision of day-to-day operations of the building and clinical services teamOversight of the program's contractual obligationsMaintenance of appropriate staff levels to ensure consistent service delivery to clientsReview of referrals from outreach teams and coordination of intakeCollaboration with building management and security staff around maintenance and other site-related mattersOn-call support to the program during evening and weekend hoursWashington Street Safe Haven is anticipated to open in September 2024.
Experience with DHS CARES preferred
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
Ability to assist with the oversight of a program that operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
