This position will oversee management, planning, and maintenance of all district facilities and grounds to ensure that the school environment is safe, functional, and conducive to educational activities. This position is anticipated to begin in

Job Summary: Oversees the management, planning, and maintenance of all district facilities and grounds to ensure that the school environment is safe, functional, and conducive to educational activities. Works closely with school administrators, staff, and external vendors to ensure that facilities are maintained to high standards, projects are completed on time and within budget, and that regulatory compliance is consistently met. Formulates long-term planning for the district's facilities.
Qualifications:
To successfully perform this position, a person must be able to perform each primary duty satisfactorily. The qualification requirements listed below represent minimum levels of educational achievement, training, skills, and/or ability necessary.
Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in facilities management, including experience in a supervisory or managerial role.Bachelor's degree in facilities management, construction management, engineering, architecture, business administration, or a related field preferred.Experience in planning, budgeting, and overseeing large-scale facilities projects.Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance procedures, and project management.Must possess knowledge and understanding of construction practices, building operating and mechanical systems, technology, regulatory and school code, electrical systems, HVAC, and facility disciplines.Candidate must be skilled in the use of current technologies including facilities management software and other relevant computer applications.Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to manage staff and work collaboratively with other departments, contractors, and stakeholders.Excellent organizational and communication skills.Must successfully complete and maintain compliance with all federal and state background and criminal record check requirements.Candidate must adhere to all local, state, federal, and school code requirements for employment.Duties & Responsibilities:
Employee must have the ability to perform the following essential functions on a timely basis with or without reasonable accommodations.
Maintains district schools, administration buildings, athletic fields, stadiums, and warehouse, which included oversight on all repairs, utilities, and custodial tasks.Manages an effective program to accomplish all routine, emergency, and preventative maintenance for district schools, administrative buildings, and campuses.Establishes and maintains a system to evaluate, prioritize, and accomplish facilities requirements.Formulates and executes policy issues for the maintenance and operation of facilities.Inspects the physical plant and grounds for safety, necessary maintenance and operational efficiency.Plans for the long-range facility requirements of the school district.Engages in operational decision making as a member of the Administrative Team.Maintains a working relationship with surrounding townships and borough for the orderly planning, overall growth, and construction of facilities.Prepares, justifies, and executes a multi-million-dollar annual budget for all facilities services and payrolls.Selects and manages professional architects, engineers, and consultants to perform facility design services and studies.Administers the design and construction of the capital construction program to build new educational and athletic facilities throughout the district.Administers maintenance service and construction contracts.Supervises and inspects all work performed by outside contractors and verifies that the terms of such contracts have been fulfilled before authorizing payments.Formulates a Master Plan for facilities requirements and land acquisition to meet the long-range needs of the district.Implements regulations from the PA Department of Education regarding facilities and procure reimbursement through the Plancon process.Maintains schedules for facility use by the public.Manage farm leases on district property.Monitors weather and police reports, assesses road conditions, and consults with the Superintendent on the delay or cancellation of school.Maintains communication with the Business Manager, Superintendent and School Board regarding facility matters, as well as the health, safety, and welfare of students and staff.Convenes and facilitates a monthly School Board Facilities Committee meeting.Ensures compliance of all environmental, health, safety, energy, and building code issues.Resolves contractual disputes, complaints, and inquiries from the public and staff regarding facilities matters.Manages custodial and maintenance staff members to efficiently maintain the facilities plant.This position description does not express or imply that these are the only duties to be performed by the incumbent(s) in this position. Salary 2024-2025 School Year:$148,848 - $178,617 annually*Placement upon salary scale is dependent upon years of experience in similar position. Salary will be prorated based on start date.
