Job Description
Kearney & Company is seeking a Junior Financial Analyst to join our Intelligence Community (IC) practice. By developing and maintaining productive working relationships with teammates, the Junior Financial Analyst will support the execution of various audit support functions for one or more workstreams, as described below.This work will be conducted on site in Springfield, VA.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Maintaining relationships and communicating with teammates, team leads, and client personnel, to understand financial management and accounting operations, processes, and functionsSupporting the client's ERM and other internal control related programs and tasks by documenting risks, controls, and processes, and performing internal control testingDeveloping quality work products that meet Federal client requirements and are in alignment with OMB, Government Accountability Office (GAO), NIST, and Treasury guidanceExecuting analysis, reconciliation, research, and other activities associated with a wide range of auditing, accounting, and financial management concepts (e.g., budgetary accounting, Property, Plant, and Equipment [PPE])Preparing or reviewing documentation in support of our client's audit response, audit remediation, internal controls, financial processes, and/or accounting in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Statements of Federal Financial Accounting Standards (SFFAS), and/or relevant Department of the Treasury and Office of Management and Budget (OMB) policiesQualifications
BA/BS/BBA degree from an accredited college/university in Accounting or a related relevant fieldTechnical competency, knowledge, and professional care commensurate with completion of assignments, and an eagerness to learn and absorb new technical and industry-specific informationAbility to work in a team environment and communicate effectively, in writing and verbally, with clients and team membersKnowledge and ability to use computer operating systems/tools such as Microsoft Office SuiteAbility to travel up to 25%Active TS/SCI with current Counterintelligence PolygraphPreferred:CPA, CISA, CIA, or other relevant-industry certifications, or the required education levels to obtain a relevant certificationPrevious experience executing financial statement audit procedures, internal control programs, and/or executing corrective actions associated with financial statement audit findings, as described aboveKCO1701#LI-MA1Overview

The expected salary range for this position is between $54,000 and $72,000. This range is representative of base pay only and does not include straight time pay for hours worked over 40 per week, company contributions towards paid benefits, and/or bonuses. Actual compensation (meeting or exceeding the range) will be determined based on specific experience, education, work location, clearance level, and other factors permitted by law.
