This position is responsible for providing professional-level decision support within the RAR organization. Tasks will include receiving goods and services and invoice processing, performing special services billing to customers, maintaining customer billing data in the WDS system to accurately direct charges; ordering goods and services as requested through the Procurement system. This position will also assist with customer billing inquiries, troubleshooting billing issues, and be involved in the annual financial planning cycle of budget preparation and creating and maintaining billing rates. The Financial Professional 1 will interact with internal RAR customers and external University customers. Position Responsibilities: Accounting and Financial Planning Activities (60%) * Obtain invoices, proof of receipt, record receipt in EFS and prepare invoices for vouchering * Act as secondary for maintaining customer billing strings in WDS system * Investigate and respond to billing inquiries and prepare billing corrections as needed * Assist with annual budget preparation * Assist with annual per diem and special services rate calculations * Manage billing email account for the department * Perform financial reporting and ad hoc analysis as requested Procurement Activities (30%) * Support procurement activities of the department by identifying vendors who source needed items * Place PCard and UMarket orders for departmental personnel * Investigate payment discrepancies with suppliers and recommend course of action Backup and Other Duties (10%) * Back up the other Accountant's responsibilities * Process cage cards when additional support is needed. * Participate in special projects as assigned such as updating manuals, writing SOPs, creating job aids, etc. Please note, this position is not eligible for H-1B or Green Card sponsorship We are not able to provide work visa sponsorship at this time. Qualifications Required Qualifications: BA/BS degree in Finance or Accounting, or a combination of related education and relevant business experience totaling 4 years. Demonstrated experience understanding financial and economic terminology and concepts Familiarity with ERP systems such as PeopleSoft and applications such as Microsoft Office and Google Suite. Demonstrated excellent time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in a University environment. Attention to detail and an analytical approach to data observation. Strong customer service skills.
