The University of Chicago\'s Department of Medicine, Section of Cardiology, is seeking full-time faculty members for appointment at Assistant Professor rank to join our nationally recognized adult Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory. These Interventional Cardiologists will participate in the growth of the Heart and Vascular Institute and have access to state-of-the-art technology and a programmatic approach to revascularization which includes close collaboration with vascular and cardiothoracic surgery.
Appointees will share responsibilities across a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures and will participate in a 1:6 call schedule, in addition to staffing the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit and providing outpatient clinical care on our main campus, Orland Park and River East. Other duties will include training and supervision of trainees and students and scholarly activity. We especially welcome applicants with experience and/or training in peripheral vascular intervention, complex coronary revascularization and mechanical circulatory/cardiopulmonary support. Compensation (including a generous package of fringe benefits) is dependent upon qualifications.
Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: (1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, (2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the state of Illinois, (3) be Board Certified or Eligible in Cardiology, (4) have completed an ACGME-accredited Interventional Cardiology Fellowship, and (5) be eligible or have passed the Added Qualification Examination in Interventional Cardiology.
