Job Summary:Occupational Therapy services are a support service of the Special Programs department and provide services in accordance with federal, state and local education agency guidelines as well as the standards of practice of the American Occupational Therapy Association.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Coordinate Occupational Therapy service to assigned schools and/or programs.Test and assess a student who has or appears to have a dysfunction in and of the following areas: neuromuscular development, sensory motor skill, activities of daily living or school/work activities.Determine whether or not dysfunction negatively impacts the student access to their educational program.Facilitate in the development of a student's IEP.Develop specific goals and objectives to facilitate skill sets that allow a student to function in his/her educational environment to maximum potential.Develop a student's individualized treatment plan and progress monitoring plan that addresses the goals and objectives stated in the IEP.Provide direct therapy to students and consultation services to school staff and parents.Familiar with equipment, supplies and various treatments.Carry out policies and procedures of Harrison School District Two in a professional manner.Support and contribute to relevant school-wide and district-wide meetings including those of the Special Programs Department.Education, Training and Experience:
Possess or eligible for a Colorado Department of Education Special Services License with an Occupational Therapist endorsement.Registered Occupational Therapist.Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited Occupational Therapy program.Transcripts required.Criminal background check and District fingerprinting required.Applicants who upload a copy of their transcripts or certifications to their application may choose to redact any dates included on the transcripts or certifications, including date of birth and dates of attendance/graduation/completion. An un-redacted copy will be requested if an employment offer is extended. In addition, submitted resumés may also exclude dates of attendance or graduation for high school and/or post-secondary education.
