Chief Purpose of this position:
This position is a clinician faculty position, with interest in general gastroenterology to function within the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition at Virginia Commonwealth University.
Position Responsibilities:
Clinical - Provide clinical services in the gastroenterology clinics at VCUHS, to include both clinics on the MCVH campus and in gastroenterology outreach locations; participate in the inpatient management of patients with GI conditions, participate in attending on the Digestive Health Service at VCUHS; perform diagnostic endoscopic procedures.
Teaching - Provide teaching to medical students, residents, and fellows in the management of patients with GI conditions.
Research- Triangulation of health disparities-opioid abuse-outcomes in the context of inflammatory bowel disease to develop strategies for community based implementation to improve access and treatment responsiveness.
Required Qualifications:
Board Certified/Board Eligible in Gastroenterology; must be facile with diagnostic endoscopy.Current license to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Virginia.Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU.
