KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Able to handle and litigate discrimination, wage and hour casesAdvise clients on compliance mattersHandle litigation from inception through resolutionDraft all discovery demands and responsesConduct and defend depositionsMake the requisite court appearancesDraft motions; argue motions in federal or state courtConduct expert discoveryPrepare and draft court filingsManage client contact information, letters, e-mails, estate planning documents and asset listsStay apprised of court and statutory deadlinesStay up-to-date with all pertinent laws and legislationREQUIRED SKILLS:
J.D. required; Admitted to practice in New York, as well as the Federal Court3+ years of Employment Litigation and Compliance experience within a law firmFirst chair trial experience is highly desiredAdvanced knowledge of compliance laws such as, federal and state wage and hour laws, the Americans with Disabilities Act and Family and Medical Leave ActExcellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work and coordinate for high-profile clients on a regular basisFamiliarity with procedures of courts requiredExcellent autonomy and ability to handle caseload independentlyThe ability to provide excellent customer service while working under pressureExperience in legal researchExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work effectively with all levels of staffHighly adaptable, proactive and works well under pressure
