JOB SUMMARY
The Occupational Therapist provides rehabilitative services to patients with mental, physical, emotional, or developmental impairments.
This is a PRN position, with weekend hours required monthly. Weekend differential for weekend hours!
THE DETAILS OF THE JOB
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESComplete evaluation of clients' daily living skills and capacities to determine extent of abilities and limitations.Plan and implement educational, vocational, and recreational programs and activities designed to restore, reinforce, and enhance task performances, diminish or correct pathology, and to promote and maintain health and self-sufficiency.Design and adapt equipment and working-living environment. Fabricate splints and other assistant devices.Instruct patient and family regarding in-home programs as well as care and use of adaptive equipment.Prepare work materials, assist in maintenance of equipment, and order supplies.Responsible for maintaining observed information in client records and preparing reports.Teach basic living skills to institutionalized, or developmentally disabled adults.Assist social worker or psychologist in administering situational or diagnostic tests to measure client's abilities or progress.Meet the Company's expectations as described in the VSON Policies and Practices.Maintain confidentiality of Personal Identifiable Information (PII) in accordance with company Policies and State and Federal laws, including OHSA and HIPAA regulations.Perform job in accordance with all company safety practices.Other duties as assigned.Requirements
Occupational Therapist Requirements:
A bachelor's degree in occupational therapy from a university certified by the ACOTE (Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education) or AOTA (American -Occupational Therapy Association).Certified by the National Board for Certification.Compliant with state healthcare regulatory requirements.Possess up-to-date knowledge of treatment practices and physical therapy programs.Excellent interpersonal communication skills.Ability to take care of clients with different personalities.Comfortable using a computer for various tasks.Ability to assess patient conditions and work with treatment plans
