Overview

Ready to shape the future of science and global health? ATCC, a leading nonprofit biological resources and standards organization, is seeking a Calibration Specialist to join our team, become NSF/ANSI49 certified, to ensure proper certification and or calibration for ATCC lab equipment.Hands-on exprience in calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of instrumentation is required. This role is based at ATCC headquarters in Manassas, VA and will also support ATCC facilities in Gaithersburg, MD and Germantown MD. Candidate must be available to support all 3 locations.Once hired, this Calibration Specialist will be trained and will become NSF49 certified to perform BSC (biosafety cabinet), LFH (Laminar Flow Hoods / Fume Hoods), and HEPA filter certifications as well as performing instrument calibrations to ISO 17025 standards. Prior military, facilities, or metrological experience highly preferred. Fantastic Biotech career opportunity for someone with an aptitude for mechanical troubleshooting. Instrumentation Calibration & Maintenance

Perform hands-on calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of laboratory equipment. Ensure all instrumentation is calibrated and/or certified on schedule to comply with metrological guidelines.

Standard Operating Procedures & Compliance

Write and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for various systems and calibration protocols.Inventory & Vendor Management

Maintain records and inventory of equipment.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:High School diploma or equivalent.Minimum of 5 years of experience in calibration, maintenance, and repair of instrumentation.Strong understanding of metrological guidelines and current manufacturing practices.Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Ability to write clear and concise SOPs.Experience in vendor management and conducting audits is a plus.Perform other duties as assigned.
