The Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology/Oncology at the University of Virginia, seeks candidates for an Open Rank, Open Track Physician Scientist faculty position. Track, rank, and tenure status are dependent upon qualifications. The Physician Scientist position will provide 25-30% clinical effort and 70-75% research effort.

The successful candidate will strengthen the clinical research efforts by enrolling patients into clinical trials via the excellent translational research opportunities and resources available at the University. Additionally, the incumbent will attend inpatient and outpatient services and participate in multidisciplinary team care and clinical research within the Cancer Center. As an integral part of the educational mission, the incumbent will actively participate in the teaching of fellows, residents, and medical students.

Qualifications

Candidates must have a MD or equivalent and be board-certified in Internal Medicine by appointment start date. Board-eligibility or Board-certification in Medical Oncology and/or Hematology is required.
