Responsibilities
Position Summary:
This position is responsible for providing diagnostic and therapeutic cardiopulmonary procedures as defined by departmental policies and procedures to newborns through geriatrics. Responsibilities include patient care critical care patient assessment and related patient care plans. This position also requires the utilization of advanced practitioner skills to intervene in complex patient care situations. The Respiratory Care Practitioner assists in the development of policies and procedures patient protocols education/coaching of nursing and support personnel multidisciplinary patient care conferences and process improvement. Assignments may include EEG EKG EMG and/or management of EKG system In accordance with the mission and philosophy of Dignity health the Respiratory Care Practitioner is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for the assessment planning implementation and evaluation of care for patients and their families. Incumbents in this position shall comply with all applicable laws and rules including the Dignity Health Standards of Conduct and Dignity Health policies and procedures that apply to his/her job responsibilities seek guidance when in doubt promptly report any potential or suspected violation of Dignity Health Standards of Conduct Dignity Health policy or procedure or applicable laws/regulations and when requested assist Dignity Health personnel in investigating all allegations of violation. When called upon the incumbent shall assist in risk evaluation and work collaboratively with facility/entity leaders to implement monitor and mitigate risk corrective plans outlined by the Compliance program.
Qualifications
Minimum:
Certificate of Completion from an accredited two year Respiratory Care Program preferred or currently enrolled in a program.
Current/pending licensure by the State of California Respiratory Care Board as a Respiratory Care Practitioner ( RCP).
Registered with the National Board for Respiratory Care or achieve registration within one year of hire date (RRT).
Certification in American Heart Association basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation (AHA BLS).
Certification in American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (AHA ACLS).
Certification in Pediatric Advanced Life Support required within six months of hire (PALS).
Certification in Neonatal Advanced Life Support or within six months of hire (NRP).
Employees assigned to EEG EKG EMG must have EKG and EEG certification within the last 5 years or 1 year of experience in the operation of electrocardiographic electromyelographic and electroencephalographic equipment.
Pay Range
$63.35 - $76.09 /hour
