Production Planning Coordinator

The Production Planning Coordinator will work directly with vendors to ensure prompt and accurate delivery of orders and assist receiving and purchasing to resolve supplier shipment discrepancies. The Production Planning Coordinator monitors the orders to be sure that the materials are delivered in the specified amount of time and plays a vital role in making sure that production has the resources needed.Roles and Responsibilities:• Expedite components manufactured in the machine shop through internal operations and outside processing operations to ensure on time completion and WIP optimization. Coordinates with stockroom personnel for issuance of material to work orders for the Machine Shop. Ensures proper material handling compliance for the components being produced.• Works closely with the Machine Shop production planner and Machine Shop supervisor to ensure production plan is executed as intended, on time and defect free. Coordinates inspection operations with Quality Control, Mfg Engineering and other functions to ensure conforming material is being cleared for use and non-conforming material is being processed and dispositioned.• Monitors daily expediting reports and liaising with purchasing and planning by either pushing out or pulling in outstanding purchase orders. Expedite and confirm delivery of all open purchase orders to ensure timely arrival of materials to support production schedules• Prepare detailed status reports for internal customers and confirm delivery commitments and advise of significant potential delinquent items. Establish and maintain vendor relations and serve as a liaison between company and suppliers for resolution of problems• Confers with production planners who identify shortages and updates them on schedule improvements or setbacks.• Works with the designated buyer to ensure PO is updated to reflect latest information given by the internal or external suppliers.• Utilizes integrated ERP system to perform transactions for creating purchase orders, purchase order changes, inquiries, printing reports, entering of data, resolving exceptions, and any other functions as trained and instructed• Contacts suppliers and follow up on outstanding quotations and purchases. Confers with vendor concerning late deliveries. Notify appropriate internal personnel of late deliveries and reschedules• Coordinates, prioritizes, and schedules workload to achieve department and company objectives• Strong analytical and communications skills• Conscientious, organized and meticulous - records must be accurate and maintained in a timely manner• Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision to meet deadlines• Ability to work under pressure• Understanding of basic machine shop operations such as lathe, mill, drill, and post production processes such as anodize and heat treat• Strong analytical and communication skills• Team oriented with a continuous improvement outlook• Willingness to travel to Suppliers if necessary

Qualifications and Education Requirements:High School Diploma or GED

Pay Range:The pay range for this position is $ 20.00- $30.00 hourly ; however, the pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This pay information is being provided pursuant to applicable law and is based in part on market location.
