Job Summary: The Respiratory Therapist independently coordinates the care of patients with physicians, nurses, families, and other caregivers. The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for assessing, recommending, and following a pathway of therapy which may include invasive and non-invasive procedures. Obtaining and documenting diagnostic data are also required. The Respiratory Therapist supports and educates patient families/caregivers who must deal with acute and chronic respiratory conditions, and the psychosocial aspects of the condition.
Minimum Qualifications for the Job:
RT I: $30.68 - $36.09 per hour
Education: An associate degree in respiratory therapy from an approved school of respiratory therapy. (An approved school is one accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC)).Experience: New graduate RT's, RT's with less than one (1) year experience, or TRs with no experience in the past five (5) years. Respiratory Therapist I's will remain at this level for a minimum six (6) months and must advance to a Respiratory Therapist II within one (1) year of hire.License(s): Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) licensure and/or a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credentialed by The National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC).Certification(s): Current BLS for Healthcare Provider CPR. NRP certification is required within six months of hire.
RT II: $45.63 - $53.68 per hour
Education: An associate degree in respiratory therapy from an approved school of respiratory therapy. (An approved school is one accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC)).Experience: A minimum of 12 months of recent respiratory therapy experience in an acute care facility, or six (6) months of experience as a Respiratory Therapist I at Bartlett.
Preferred Experience: Three (3) years of experience is preferred.
License(s): Current Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) licensure and/or a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credentialed by The National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC).Certification(s): Current BLS for Healthcare Provider CPR. NRP certification is required within six months of hire.
Internal Hires: Pay rate will be determined based on applicable personnel rule or union contract terms.
