Minimum Qualifications

10 years of experience in benefits/wellness, healthcare or another related field

5 years of leadership experience

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent expertise in business administration, healthcare, human resources or another related field

Strong quantitative and analytical skills with ability to learn and work in custom data warehouse

Preferred Qualifications

Experience leading a value-based care approach to health and benefits

Experience creating and leading creative health and benefits solutions related to onsite clinics, direct to provide relationships and more

Job Summary

As the Vice President, Health and Benefits, you'll be responsible for the strategic direction, planning, alignment, design and financial oversight of health and benefit plans and programs.

Responsibilities

Direct the development, implementation and ongoing analysis of the health benefits strategy – including complete plan design, pricing strategy, administration, compliance, communications, implementation and evaluation

Lead the design and development of benefits policies, plans and programs that are linked to the enterprise’s strategic objectives

Evaluate existing programs through research, surveys and analysis of benefit trends and/or vendor management to ensure they are competitive

Formulate and recommend comprehensive benefit plans and policies that are in compliance with government regulations and within budgetary constraints

Communicate strategic objectives and program design with senior stakeholders

Lead the annual open enrollment process from start to finish

Develop and maintain a wellness strategy that nurtures a culture of health with an emphasis on preventive care

Partner with consultants, coordinate request for proposals (RFPs), negotiate contracts and select vendors for the implementation of benefits programs

Manage relationships with vendors, consultants, internal and external clients

Assist with the development of team member communications regarding benefit programs, procedures and disclosures

Monitor benefits programs to ensure compliance with internal guidelines and regulatory requirements, adjusting plans and programs as needed

Partner with cross-functional teams on risk mitigation strategies related to health and benefits programs

Partner with cross-functional teams and internal stakeholders to accomplish initiatives

Oversee special projects, including work related to mergers and acquisitions

Oversee budget and partner with cross-functional teams to address questions, prepare budgets and present analyses to senior stakeholders

Lead the organization’s unique benefit offerings including the multi-disciplinary onsite clinic, digital behavioral health platform, 24/7 telemedicine access and more

Partner with leadership to develop a multi-year, value-based care plan for the organization with an emphasis on outcomes and return on investment (ROI)

Lead potential vendor RFPs for benefit consultants, third party administrators, employee assistance program (EAP) partners and more

Design the overarching health and benefits brand to set the organization up as an employer of choice

Foster a culture of seeking and developing new, creative solutions for health and benefits to improve employer value

Stay informed of market trends, best practices and regulations to apply to health and benefits programs at the organization
