Overview
Edgewater Federal Solutions is currently seeking a cleared Windows Server System Administrator to provide support to the DOE Office of Environment, Health, Safety and Security (EHSS) contract located in Germantown, MD. The position has a focus on Windows Server system administration. Opportunities to be involved in other technologies are available. You will be part of a tenured and nurturing team to further develop your technical skills while supporting the security of the nation. This position is HYBRID, reporting to the DOE office in Germantown, Maryland.Responsibilities
Install, configure, maintain, and monitor physical and virtual Windows based computer systems
Install, configure, and manage storage appliancesVulnerability remediation and software patching and trackingSystem baseline hardening using DISA STIGsManage Active Directory accounts and group memberships in both on-prem and cloud environmentsDeployment of COTS and custom applicationsAutomation of routine and repeatable tasksDocument systems' policies and proceduresCoordinate and communicate activities, status updates, outage notifications and schedule information with clients, other IT personnel, and other team membersTier 2 customer support.Other assigned duties assigned by the Project or Program ManagerQualifications
US CitizenshipACTIVE DOE Q or Top Secret ClearanceWindows Server System Administration experience at least 2-4 yearsComputer and network troubleshootingUnderstanding of patching software and deployment of patches (WSUS, SCCM) maintain accurate recordsAbility to work well in a collaborative team environmentStrong communication and collaboration skills; verbal and written.Ability to develop and maintain complex technical documentation.Ability to adapt to changing requirements/processes.Ability to lift 50 pounds.Desired Skills:Virtualization, servers, storage, and networking equipment experienceESXI or similar hypervisor experienceFamiliarity with VMware Horizon vCenter or similar remote desktop softwareFamiliarity with Smartcards/PKIStrong troubleshooting and solution research skillsFamiliarity with network protocols and network management technologies LAN/WANConditions of EmploymentHSPD12 Credential eligibilityAbout Us:Edgewater Federal Solutions is a privately held government contracting firm located in Frederick, MD.
