Senior Cost AccountantLocation: Northridge, CA (On-Site)Contract to Hire / Direct Hire (DOE)Pay: $55-65/HR (DOE)
Our client, a global leader in medical devices, is looking for a Senior Cost Accountant to join their growing team. In this role, you will conduct in-depth financial analysis of manufacturing processes to enhance key performance metrics, identify and analyze cost variances, determine root causes, and develop recommendations for improvement. Your insights will be pivotal in supporting the company's continued rapid growth.
Job Responsibilitiesnalyze and evaluate weekly manufacturing variances including PPV, labor/OH absorption, and inventory valuation and implement timely adjustments. Collaborate with the manufacturing operations to analyze variance and drive improvements.ssist in developing standard costs for materials, labor and overhead, and development of burden rates.Develop product unit cost and perform profitability analysis.Prepare month end journal entries manually & review for anomalies & inconsistencies.Prepare monthly inventory account reconciliations and identify why any unreconciled variances exist.ssist in developing an inventory reserve policy and perform monthly analysis.Develop plant expense guidelines to ensure correct classification of controlled expenses .ssist in budget and forecast preparation and ensure timely completion .ssist with annual financial audits as it relates to inventory and standard costs .Perform cost-benefit analyses as needed .Participate in the cycle count process with Supply Chain quarterly.Drive simplification, standardization and continuous improvement of processes and controls to achieve effective financial reporting and internal controls.
Required Experience
Bachelor's degree from accredited university in accounting/finance or related field.5+ years relevant work experience in manufacturing and cost accounting**Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including strong Excel skills
