Overview

The Salvation Army’s Boston Kroc center is hiring a Housekeeper and offers the following benefit package to part-time employees:

ResponsibilitiesDuties and Responsibilities

Provide routine cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming and dusting of all interior and exterior building surfaces and furnishings.

Regular cleaning and sanitation of areas include restrooms, shower rooms, locker rooms, fitness areas, library, offices, nursey, classrooms, chapel, kitchen, lounges, dining rooms, etc.

Regular removal of trash and recyclables.

Regular cleaning and sweeping of exterior areas including sidewalks, and paved areas

Maintain appropriate inventories of cleaning products, supplies and products such as paper towels, toilet tissue, and soaps throughout the facility.

Maintain the appearance of the facilities and grounds including doors, windows, flooring, walls, and furnishings.

Maintain records of room cleaning.

Work in a cooperative manner with the other on-site managers of the RJKCCC.

Attend all scheduled staff meetings.

Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the position.

QualificationsEducation Requirements

Minimum of High School Graduate or Equivalent

Work Experience

Experience in commercial or residential cleaning preferred, but not necessary

Other Qualifications

Must be a minimum of 18 years of age

Must be self-motivated and have a genuine interest in the cleanliness and care of the facility.

Must be able to perform duties independently, with minimal need of direct supervision.

Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Must be able to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.

Must possess the necessary knowledge of custodial tools

Must observe safety standards and procedures related to custodial work

Must be organized and have a high attention to detail and the ability to prioritize.

Ability to solve complex problems, make appropriate judgments and decisions

Maintain a high level of confidentiality, discretion, and judgment.

Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally.
