Job Summary :The Technical Manager will lead a team of project and process engineers at a chemical manufacturing plant, ensuring the efficient execution of engineering projects and process improvements. This role involves overseeing all technical aspects of plant operations, including process optimization, troubleshooting, and implementing new technologies. The Technical Manager will collaborate closely with production, maintenance, and quality teams to drive operational excellence and support the plant's strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities :

Lead and manage a team of project and process engineers, providing technical guidance, mentoring, and performance feedback.Oversee the design, development, and implementation of process improvements to optimize plant efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure product quality.Manage capital projects, including scope development, budgeting, scheduling, and coordination with contractors and internal teams.Work closely with production teams to identify and resolve process bottlenecks and inefficiencies.Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for key processes, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company standards.Collaborate with the safety team to ensure that all engineering projects and processes meet health, safety, and environmental regulations.Evaluate and recommend new technologies and equipment to enhance production capabilities and plant efficiency.Monitor process performance using key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions when targets are not met.Coordinate with the quality team to address product quality issues and implement process changes as needed.Prepare technical reports and presentations for plant leadership, providing insights into project progress, process improvements, and technical challenges.Qualifications :

Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in chemical manufacturing, with at least 3-5 years in a technical leadership role.Proven experience in managing engineering teams, with a strong track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.In-depth knowledge of chemical manufacturing processes, including process design, optimization, and troubleshooting.Strong understanding of process safety management (PSM) and environmental regulations.Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Proficiency in process simulation software, data analysis tools, and ERP systems.Preferred Qualifications :

Experience with continuous manufacturing processes.Certification in Lean, Six Sigma, or Project Management Professional (PMP).Familiarity with advanced process control (APC) and automation technologies.
