SUMMARY:
The National Account Manager (NAM) for Walmart and Sam's Club will play a vital role in devising and executing successful sales strategies to meet Mizkan's annual budget, including goals for distribution, shelving, merchandising, and price execution. This position will aid the growth of specific brands and closely collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and capture new business opportunities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of retail channels, effective strategies for both in-store and omni-channel sales and excel at fostering relationships with internal and external stakeholders. This pivotal role is essential to the organization's success, granting the individual significant internal visibility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Act as a key leader on the sales team, responsible for meeting customer plansMaintain and grow existing business levels and secure new sales opportunitiesDevelop and lead advanced customer engagement strategy including Joint Business Planning, innovation and daily operationsCultivate and manage relationships with merchants at Walmart and Sam's Club; contribute to customer strategy to ensure business objectives are metExceed all key sales measures and targets for the national account (Gross Sales, Net Sales and trade spend)Work in close partnership with cross function teams (COE, Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, Demand Planning) to ensure development and implementation of customer category strategy and best in class executionCollaborate with Replenishment Manager and Demand Planning to meet/exceed customer service levels; contribute to sales forecast development and provide feedback during forecast alignment meetingsWork with Category Manager to develop plans to drive category story for growthDevelop promotional strategy for customers, and promotional execution (including trade budget management/proficiencies and space optimization)Develop and lead advanced customer engagement strategy including JBP, innovation and day to day businessManage customer negotiations pertaining to Mizkan's commercial go-to-market strategyPursue continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for efficiency, profitability, and better category managementManage third party retail broker to ensure commercial excellence in storeLead cross-functional meetings with Sales, Customer Service, Marketing, Finance, Production, and R&D functions to influence and advocate for the customerEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS:
BA or BS degree required or equivalent work experience5 years of experience in sales and broker management required along with experience working with Walmart and Sam's ClubCreative, assertive, customer driven, and results-orientedDemonstrated ability to manage, build, and enhance business valueBroad-based business knowledge, strategic thinking, good judgment, and accurate risk assessment skills are highly desirableHigh level of interpersonal and communication skills requiredAbility to negotiate effective agreements is essentialMust be professional, honest, trustworthy, and committed to customer satisfactionProficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Retail Link/Luminate, MADRID and syndicated data is essentialHybrid work environment with days working at the regional sales office in Rogers, AR and home as determined by the organization10%+ travelMust be organized, able to prioritize, and work in a fast-paced, changing environment
