As an Apprentice Electrician with the Tesla Energy Commercial Deployment team you will have the opportunity to work under the direction and supervision of a Licensed Electrician on all phases of commercial PV, energy storage and super charging stations: Skills in all areas of electrical are not necessarily required, but the job can and will involve a variety of electrical disciplines and a strong candidate will be able to perform a variety of electrical tasks from distribution/production power, lighting and low voltage. Working as a team with the entire energy department, the apprentice electrician assist with new installation of: power distribution, transformers, lighting, and electrical equipment 480 VAC up to 1000VDC, Inverters, Batteries, DC strings Under the guidance of a Licensed Electrician. This role is 80% travel. Responsibilities Maintaining and troubleshooting various types of electrical components Uses complex electrical schematics and blueprints Consulting manuals, reading and interpreting diagrams, blueprints, and schematics Performs a wide variety of job scopes.(Installing modules, racking and any other required tasks assign to him/her) Displays positive attitudes and practices good work ethics that reflects the mission, philosophy, and goals of the company Complete tasks in a timely manner and provide feedback Requirements Must be a Registered Trainee with the DIR or willing and able to register and enroll in a state approved trainee course (WECA) Knowledge of basic electrical theory and Ohms law. Must have 1-4 years of electrical experience Knowledge of using hand tools, electrical meter, and testing equipment Able to size conductors, conduits and using NEC Code Book. Experience working with 120/208, 480/277 VAC. Ability to interpret electrical prints and schematics Ability to install electrical equipment. Ability to produce parts lists and work plans based off drawings or field walks and routing. Ability to produce as-built drawing for work performed. Ability to test and commission all work per Tesla procedures Ability to complete job scopes outside of normal core competencies as required. Strong working knowledge of job site safety with the ability to thoroughly evaluate job hazards and complete pre-work task planning with an emphasis on identifying electrical hazards and proper safety procedures Able to lift 40 lbs. Ability to work in high elevation up to 80 ft. high.
