DESCRIPTION In a fast-paced manufacturing facility, the Skilled Assembler uses blueprints, hydraulics and electrical schematics to assemble food and/or battery handling equipment. Assemblers are detail-oriented, skilled employees who build and test products by safely using shop equipment and such standard hand tools as grinders, pneumatic tools, electric tools, multimeters, swage machines, vacuum testers and pressure indicators. Assemblers must be able work independently and in cooperation with other employees. The ideal person will be computer literate, be able to read the prints and understand the equipment at a fundamental level to troubleshoot any problems that may arise.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Accurately read and interpret blueprints.Accurately read and interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics.Comply with Shop and Department Safety Rules and practices.Safely operate grinders, band saws, pneumatic tools, multimeters, swage machines, vacuum testers and pressure indicators.Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and carry for distances to 25 feet.
CONDITIONS 1. Hours per day - 6:00am to 4:30pm, Monday through Thursday, with opportunities for overtime. 2. Work Breaks - 2 10-minute breaks daily, 1 30-minute lunch break on full day schedule. 3. Work performed while a. Sitting - 5% b. Standing - 95% c. Kneeling, Bending, Stooping, Pushing, Pulling - 35% d. Lifting Light - 1-15 pounds - frequently Medium - 16-45 pounds - Frequently *Any lifting over 50 lbs. requires assistance or use of mechanical device. 5. Carrying distance - Up to 25 feet frequently. 6. Environment - Temperature from 25 to 110+ degrees. Fumes, dust, humidity, noise.
