Job Objectives:
Manage and grow a portfolio of general casualty business by exercising proper underwriting discipline, and by marketing and servicing both existing and potential retail clients.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Specific responsibilities of this position include:
§
Perform account analysis according to Allied World (US) General Casualty guidelines
§
Develop account pricing, structure and terms and make recommendations
§
Perform and document referrals
§
Prepare quotes, binders, and underwriting worksheets within company guidelines
§
Maintain files in an orderly manner consistent with company guidelines
§
Delegate and supervise work to Account Coordinators as needed
§
Attend client meetings, lunches, dinners, and other social outings as applicable
§
Market to retailers within assigned region and engage production meetings
§
Work with Legal department for manuscript wording analysis and preparation as needed
§ Ability to interact with senior management on referral items, and willingness to train and work with UW Trainee and Junior Underwriters.
