Job Objectives
:
As an Sr. Underwriter on the Excess Casualty team, you will manage and grow a portfolio of general casualty business by exercising proper underwriting discipline, and by marketing and servicing both existing and potential retail clients. This position focuses on retail distribution with a targeted approach on construction, real estate, and products liability risks.
Duties and Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities of this position include:
Perform account analysis according to Allied World (US) General Casualty guidelines
Develop account pricing, structure and terms and make recommendations
Perform and document referrals
Prepare quotes, binders, and underwriting worksheets within company guidelines
Maintain files in an orderly manner consistent with company guidelines
Delegate and supervise work to Account Coordinators as needed
Attend client meetings, lunches, dinners, and other social outings as applicable
Market to retailers within assigned region and engage production meetings
Work with Legal department for manuscript wording analysis and preparation as needed
Ability to interact with senior management on referral items, and willingness to train and work with UW Trainee and Junior Underwriters.
