Principal / TCD Administrative Team / Student ServicesThis individual works with administrators, tech support, instructors, and support staff to facilitate, manage and organize various aspects of student services.
Job Summary:
Provide office support to instructional and administrative personnel to ensure organized and efficient operations within the school. Answer incoming calls; assist parents, visitors, and staff; perform other duties as assigned. Maintain confidentiality of student, staff and department information within the school and community.
Qualifications : Previous clerical or support staff experience in a school setting preferred. Use of effective and professional communication skills with all stakeholders; computer and word processing skills; effective and efficient filing practices. Ability to use standard office equipment over the major portion of the day.
Below are some tasks which may need to be completed by the Temporary Secretary, while the position is TEMPORARY we may need some of the tasks to be done and we will provide guidance and support to ensure you can effectively cover the tasks.
Responsibilities:
Student SupportMaintain student records and complete requests for information from outside sourcesMaintain record of driving permission forms and update them regularlyAssist with IEP/504 reportingProcess student intervention forms and communicate such with administrationAssist in coordination of transportation and supervision for Explore Days, Junior High Career Days, Junior High ToursAssist in coordination of other school activities including A-Team, Senior Awards, and Open Houses, including preparation and distribution of material for the eventOther Support:
Collect and enter data pertaining to student attendancePrepare and distribute daily attendance reportsCommunicate TCD's attendance schedule or student attendance changes to TCD Instructors and appropriate home school personnelCommunicate home school attendance, testing schedule and bus schedule to TCD InstructorsAssist Assistant Principal with Student of the Month programsUpdate and maintain Assistant Principal, Dean, and Primary Contacts ListsCommunicate with partner schools, parents, and staff under the direction of TCD administrationCoordinate with staff on any upcoming school events throughout the yearSupport break schedule for West Diamond Security Person and School OfficeOther duties as assigned by the TCD officeRequired Qualifications:
Excellent organizational, phone, verbal and written communication skills;Thorough knowledge of office procedures;Proficiency in Microsoft Office for Windows: Outlook, Excel and .csv files, Word (including mail merge features), and PowerPoint;Proficiency in using general office equipment: copier, folding machine, postage machine, faxPossess effective strategies to meet deadlines, establish priorities, and work cooperatively as a member of the administrative support team.Comfortable working in a school setting with all stakeholders: students, staff, sending school personnel and dual credit partnersDesired Skills:
Bilingual (Spanish) language skillsExperience with Google G Suite: Google Docs, sheetsStudent Information Management SoftwareFamiliarity with basic photographySkill in social media platforms (Twitter)Minimum Associates Degree
