Job Status: 10 month
Summary of Position: Performs basic clerical and general office duties involving attendance, typing, some computer entry, and telephoning. Assist with staff, student and parent needs. Serves as a support person for the Principal and Secretary to expedite the flow of work through the school office.
Qualifications :
High School Diploma or equivalentPrior clerical experience preferredAbility to understand, apply, and use computers and software applications (i.e. Word, Excel)Ability to maintain confidentiality of information regarding students, employees and others.Experience dealing with the public and staff with and the ability to be courteous and patient while maintaining a positive, cooperative work environment.Essential Job Functions :
Records and follows up on daily attendance by noting all absences, does follow-up telephone calls pertaining to absences, and keeps permanent daily, monthly, and yearly summary attendance reports. Gives to Principal for approval.Attends to student health needs as they develop.Copies various materials for office and staff which may include collating.Performs typing and computer entry as needed for work flow.Carries out various record keeping responsibilities such as filing, student records, office forms, memos, registration materials, student birthday cards, monies collected and mail distribution.Communicates with parents, student and others needing direction.Fills in for the Secretary when Secretary is absent.Assists with answering phone calls, and provides information and assistance to callers.Performs other duties as assigned.Physical Ability :Work in standard office and school building environments. The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires sitting, walking, and standing.
