Reporting to the Vice President of Administrative Services, the Senior Associate Vice President and Chief Information Officer (SAVP-IT/CIO) provides overall vision and leadership for the Office of Information Technology. Paramount among these duties include the development and implementation of contemporary and innovative college-wide information technology programs and solutions in support of the college mission and strategic priorities.
The SAVP-IT/CIO will effectively manage college-wide infrastructure and related information systems and technology to support both centralized and distributed IT services that promote academic success, excellent service to students, and efficient administrative functions. Working in a collaborative environment with administrators, faculty and staff, the SAVP-IT will demonstrate a commitment to service excellence, innovation, student success, integrity, and diversity in the performance of job duties.
Essential Functions
30% - Collaborate with executive and college leadership to identify current and projected technology needs, as well as opportunities to enhance services and solutions for students, faculty and staff; build, enrich and maintain internal/external collaborative relationships; represent the college in districtwide initiatives, and district/state/national committees and organizations
30% - Ensure technology systems, network and communication infrastructure, solutions and services support are in place to meet the needs of students, faculty, staff and community members; partner with the executive team and shared governance teams to ensure appropriate funding resources to achieve targeted technology standards which support instruction and foster innovation. Prepares and manages budget; monitors/approves expenditures; administers and oversees contracts and procurement activities
20% - Ensure the supervision of IT personnel and provision of professional development options; guide IT leadership team in deriving/achieving performance expectations and execution of organizational skills development strategies; lead department-wide effective and professional employee relations and customer interactions
20% - Ensure efficacy of IT operational strategies and practices; manage organizational budget and ensure adherence to fiscally responsible practices throughout the department; maintain compliance to federal/state/institutional laws and regulations; committed to technology and security best practices
Minimum Qualifications
Master's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in education or field related to area of assignment and four years of progressively responsible management and/or leadership experience in field of assignment that includes two years of supervisory experience.Desired QualificationsDoctoral degree from an accredited institution of higher learning in an IT discipline, such as Computer Science or Computer Systems, OR a non-IT Master's with a Bachelor's degree in an IT disciplineFive or more years of demonstrated IT operations focused management experienceFive or more years of demonstrated experience procuring or overseeing the procurement of hardware and software for the enterprise, and managing technology service providersFive or more years of demonstrated experience developing and administering IT budgetsFour or more years of demonstrated ability to collaborate across organizational boundaries with diverse groups of internal constituents and within a large, complex organizationFour or more years of demonstrated oversight over information security management, crisis management, disaster recovery and business continuity
