Human Resources Supervisor

Position Summary:
The Human Resources Supervisor (HRS) is responsible for overseeing and administering all aspects of payroll, employee benefits and relations. The HRS will be responsible for supporting HR operations across multiple business units, ensuring consistency and alignment with company policies and objectives. This position ensures compliance with Affirmative Action Plans and maintains adherence to both state and federal regulations. Additionally, the role involves managing HR-related audits and continuously improving HR processes to support organizational objectives. Provide guidance to both management and employees regarding HR policies and programs, thus fostering a positive and productive work environment. Ability to demonstrate proficiency in Human Resources, with strong communication skills, attention to detail, with the initiative necessary to excel in a dynamic and evolving environment.
Job Responsibilities:
Supervise HR staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to ensure effective and efficient HR operations.Oversee and administer payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance with state and federal wage and hour laws and that payroll systems are maintained with up-to-date employee information, pay rates, deductions, and other related data.Provide guidance and support to managers and supervisors on HR-related matters including performance management, disciplinary actions, conflict resolution, and strategies to enhance employee engagement.Serve as the first point of contact for employee relations issues, ensuring timely and professional resolution of concerns.Assist in open enrollment periods, employee onboarding for benefits, and ongoing benefits administration.Facilitate employee training on HR-related topics such as workplace harassment, performance evaluations, and conflict resolution.Maintain and prepare all required documentation related to the company's Affirmative Action Plan and other compliance reports.Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with HR documentation requirements.Assist in managing HR audits and ensure corrective actions are implemented when needed.Provide HR reporting and metrics to management on various topics, including employee turnover, headcount, and compensation analysis.Support the development and execution of HR strategic initiatives.Collaborate with the HR team to drive continuous improvement in HR processes and systems.Required Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.5+ years of HR experience with a focus in benefits administration, employee relations, and compliance.Minimum of 2 years Supervisory experience with the demonstrated ability to manage teams, lead projects and drive performance.Minimum of 1 year of experience in full cycle payroll processing.Knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations, including FLSA, EEO, ADA, and FMLA.Experience with Affirmative Action Plans (AAP) and related reporting.Proficiency with INOVA HRIS and payroll system or similar.Must be approachable with strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.Strong problem-solving, conflict resolution, and decision-making abilities.Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.Strong experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, OneDrive, and Teams).Highly skilled in prioritizing tasks, paying attention to detail, and delegating responsibilities effectively.Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.High integrity and ability to handle confidential information with high degree of discretion and sensitivity.Ability to independently troubleshoot issues while recognizing when to escalate problems and work effectively with minimal supervision.Desirable Skills/Education:
2+ years of experience in full cycle payroll processing.SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP or PHR/SPHR certification.Proficiency in data analysis and HR metrics.Physical Requirements:
Sitting, standing, and walking in office, warehouse and manufacturing environments.Ability to bend, lift, and position self to move about the office, as needed.Required use of fingers and hands to operate a computer.Vision abilities required by this position includes close and/or color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
