Description and Requirements

The System Development Manager of Hardware Engineering is a leadership position with responsibility to provide support and lead team through server development execution. In this role, the suitable candidate will manage and develop a team of engineers and TPMs based in Morrisville, empowering the team to design and support Lenovo platforms throughout the product life cycle. Projects are typically longer-term, multi-functional with complex requirements and effort. This role also involves project resource planning, schedule and budget control, status updates, and strong cross company communication with the world-wide development organization. This management role will have both direct project responsibility and provide support for peer server development projects. Additionally, this work will involve working directly with customers on OEM versions of our General Purpose servers and customizing servers per specific customer requirements. It could also include identifying and improving process and program efficiencies. You will have the opportunity to make an impact on the products we develop and build a top-class engineering team while supporting our In House Development strategy.

Responsibilities:Oversee hardware product development through the entire life cycleWork with team on developing schedules, budgets, resource plans, critical deliverables, and other support requirements for assigned projectsDrive decisions and ensure standardized product development processes are followedWork closely with operations, manufacturing, testing, FW and common teamsIdentify and highlight issues and prevent resource constraints before they happenLead strategic initiatives to expand the capabilities of this system team working closely with peer teamsDevelop team technical skills as part of continual growthCoach team members by defining expectations and providing timely and specific feedbackIdentify mentorship opportunities and coordinate training and professional development for your teamBasic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Sciences, or equivalentAt least 6 years of industry experienceAt least 2 years of direct experience with hardware design on server productsAt least 2 years experience effectively communicating program plans, proposals, and results, as well as negotiating options at senior management levelsPrevious experience leading a team of engineers and acting as a technical contributor in design reviews and decisionsPreferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Sciences, or equivalent2+ years of management experienceExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsDeep knowledge in one or more technical topics
