Stormwater Engineering Specialist

STV has an immediate need in our Charlotte, NC or Raleigh, NC office for a Civil Engineer in our Transportation division. The successful candidate will:
Prepare Storm Water Management Reports and culvert/bridge hydrologic & hydraulic studiesCoordinate permitting through various water management districtsParticipate in project development meetings with client teamsProvide professional design services for transportation improvement projects, including storm drains, culverts, storm water management, green stormwater, ESD/LID facilities, and erosion and sediment control.Achieve quality deliverables within the established schedule and budgetAssist with the development of specifications, cost estimates, and technical reportsThe candidate will be designing and coordinating with senior staff. This is an excellent opportunity for a creative, self-motivated, and detail-oriented professional who enjoys being part of a strong team environment! Additionally, will also have opportunities to assist our transportation design efforts, providing geometric design for road and bridge projects (these skills are not required and can be learned on numerous projects).
Responsibilities include:
Using hydrologic and hydraulic software such as Geopak Drainage, StormCAD, and HEC-RAS modelingUsing CADD and mapping software including MicroStation, AutoCAD, and ESRI ArcGISsubmitting NPDES permit requirements of municipalities and other government entitiesStrong inter-personal skills for engineering discipline interactionExperience in the North Carolina transportation field is desirable due to the unique nature of Erosion/Sediment Control and Stormwater Management permittingCandidate should possess knowledge and experience of NC Department of Transportation and Local government design and permitting requirementsRequired Skills:
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Engineering and a master's degree in Engineering is a plus (Civil, Biological, Agricultural, or another related discipline)A minimum of 3 years of experience of Water Resources and Storm Water Design Engineering - design of storm drains, culverts, storm water management, BMPs, erosion and sediment control, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and Floodplain studies, and environmental permitting, along with cost estimating
Compensation Range:$74,291.00 - $99,054.00
