Technical RepresentativeJOB SUMMARYTo provide project management blasting services within the LLC. Provide technical support and training to division personnel promote technical advancement of product and blasting techniques and support company sales.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Provide advanced technical assistance to employees and customers including blast planning, blast assessment, and blast optimization.Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by assuring regulatory compliance (MSHA, OSHA, ATF, DOT, etc.).Ensure job site operational and regulatory procedures are accurately and uniformly implemented.Conduct job site assessments to identify areas of potential safety and regulatory exposures and implement preventative measures to mitigate risk.Participate in the investigation of accidents and incidents to determine cause and recommend corrective action to management.Develop and coordinate internal networks of expertise that could be shared throughout the LLC.Assist in the training and certification of LLC personnel.Support manufacturing objectives to improve and ensure continuing product quality.Maintain routine contact with the explosives industry and relevant experts to be aware of regulatory and product issues that could have an impact on operations.Maintain knowledge of industry trends, applications, and product development and technical advancements.Meet with general public, landowners and interest groups concerning blasting issues, regulations, standards or policies.Other duties as assigned.MARGINAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Assist or perform the duties of Technical Sales Rep (TSR).Assist or perform the duties of Certified Blaster.QUALIFICATIONS:Education:Bachelors' degree, preferably in Mining.Licenses/Training/CertificationMust possess upon hire or acquire within 12 months of hire the following certification:Austin Powder Company Blasting CertificationState Blasting License, as requiredMSHA New Miner and MSHA Experienced MinerCPRHazmatConfined SpaceATF RefresherTask Training as requiredExperience3-5 years certified blasting experience.3-5 years supervisory experience.Knowledge/Skills/AbilitiesKnowledge and ability to use project management equipment.Interpersonal/Communication Skills: Demonstrates an ability to work with supervisors, co-workers and subordinates toward the accomplishment of a common goal. Utilizes effective written and verbal communication techniques.Product/Technical Knowledge: Demonstrates an in-depth knowledge of company products and equipment.Time Management Skills: Demonstrates an ability to manage own schedule and frequently others, for maximum opportunity.Analytical Skills: Demonstrates an ability to analyze complex problems and make sound recommendations.Presentation Skills: Demonstrates ability to present information in written and verbal format to widely diverse audiences.ERGONOMIC CONDITIONSThe work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job:Necessary to be able to handle the elements of the weather conditions as well as the rough terrains of the job sites.Exposure to dust, noise, oils, greases, and other debris.Physical RequirementsWhile performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to:Walk, stand, sit, use hands to operate controls and work with tools, climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear.80% travel, generally within the LLC.This contractor and subcontractor shall abide by the requirements of 41 CFR 60-1.4(a), 60-300.5(a) and 60-741.5(a).
