Mission
Reeves Construction Company is currently seeking an experienced
Loader Operator
(Komatsu WA500 or equivalent) for the
Reeves - Blacksburg Quarry.
The successful candidate for this role will have an uncompromising focus on safety excellence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assist in plant repairs and clean-upPerform pre-shift safety inspection on equipmentPerform preventative maintenance and service mobile equipment. Report needed repairs to shop personnelResponsible for good housekeeping of equipmentAdhere to MSHA and plant safety rules and regulationsPerform duties with minimum supervision
Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED equivalent (required)2-5 years' experience operating heavy equipment (preferred)2+ years' experience operating heavy equipment within quarry operations or on large scale commercial construction sites consisting of loader, dozer, excavator, articulated haul truck, water truck, skid steer (preferred).Must be willing to work 10+ hours a day.Must be willing to work Saturdays (as needed).
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Must be able to read equipment operating manualMust be able to complete pre-shift inspection reportMust be able to communicate in English on radio or CBPossess basic mathematical aptitude to complete daily reportsMust be able to wear all required safety equipmentMust be able to perform duties in a safe mannerMust be able to read and interpret gaugesProven ability to work in a TEAM environment
Physical Demands
Must have good hand/eye coordination and be able to operate hand/foot controlsPossess good vision to perceive depth at close range and distances up to 150 feetMust be able to limb on and off equipment to operate and serviceMust be able to bend, stoop, climb and reach around mobile equipmentCapable of lifting up to 50 lb.Must be able to sit and operate equipment for long periods up to 10+ hours per dayMust work outside in all weather conditions consistent with extreme ambient temperatures: heat, cold, wetness, dryness, dust, and noisy conditionsMust be able to work at various heights
Work Environment
Larger equipment is typically air conditioned. There will be times when outside assignments that may require periods of work in all weather conditions-heat, cold, wet or dry. May have exposure to dust, sand, gravel, diesel exhaust, etc.
