Reporting to the Operations Manager, in this role you will have responsibility over the production facility of a World-Class manufacturer of Pressure Relief Valves for the Nuclear Power Generation and Navy industries!In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be: Drive safety as the #1 priority through personal words and actions, supporting a positive safety culture and effectively implementing policies and procedures. Promote a positive work environment through team-first leadership. Maintain effective communication and collaboration channels with other departments and peer leaders. Manage the manufacturing processes of Pressure Relief Valves and related products in an Engineered-to-Order environment Direct operations of Machining, Valve Assembly, and Special Products Assembly departments through management of direct-line supervisors. Identify and supervise department goals, driving sustainability and improvement actions in support of a customer-first attitude and approach. Manage Union workforce through fair and consistent application of policies and work rules in accordance with Union contract. Participate in Union-Management meetings and discussions to address issues and resolve grievances fairly and in a timely manner. Participate in the interview and selection process of hourly and salaried employees. Assign tasks and projects that challenge and grow employees' abilities. Provide current, direct, complete, actionable, and constructive feedback to employees through one-on-one communication and the completion of timely, effective performance reviews. Foster open dialogue with all departments and employees by presenting on matters such as business conditions, goals, trends, accomplishments, and policies. Support ongoing training programs by recommending and owning the development of new training programs and updates to existing training programs. Identify, support, and lead continual improvement and capital investment projects. Who You Are: You establish clear responsibilities and processes for supervising work and measuring results. You form diverse teams to build a mix of styles, perspectives, and experience. You communicate effectively in various settings: one-on-one, small and large groups, or among diverse styles and position levels. You carefully consider all relevant factors and use appropriate decision-making criteria and principles. For This Role, You Will Need: Bachelor's degree or commensurate company experience for internal candidates. 5+ years supervisory or management experience in a manufacturing environment 3+ years direct supervisory or management experience of a union workforce Ability to successfully connect with all levels of the organization in formal and informal settings Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart: Proficient in comprehending machining processes and requirements, with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with machinists, engineers, and other departments to ensure smooth operations and project success.
