Job DescriptionIf you are an engineering professional who enjoys solving meaningful problems and seeking opportunities to grow personally and professionally, Emerson may have a role for you!As a Welding Engineer based in our Stafford, TX location, you will be responsible for all technical aspects of welding fabrication used in the production process. Your responsibilities include providing metallurgical expertise and consulting, developing, and maintaining continuity of welding processes in accordance with industry standards and customer requirements for our global manufacturing locations. In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be: Review all quotations and purchase orders for welding and heat treating requirements as well as translate requirements into procedures and work instructions used in the manufacturing process. Develop welding and heat treating procedures required in the production of valves and components. Establish and maintain records of Welder qualifications. Provide technical expertise and advising in respect to welding and metallurgy to all Engineered Product companies. Work with Product and Development Engineers in the design and development of new products by running experiments or tests as required to evaluate new materials. Provide design of welded joints to meet design specification requirements. Assure that all production fabrication welding and heat treating conforms to required Code standards and customer specifications. Assist in the training of Welders in the accurate techniques to assure compliance to Code and procedure requirements. Maintain a detailed understanding and working knowledge of ASME Section IX and other welding Codes. Reviews all Code revisions and incorporates changes to operating procedures vital to maintain compliance.Who You Are:You readily action new challenges, without unnecessary planning. You establish clear responsibilities and processes for supervising work and measuring results.For This Role, You Will Need: Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Metallurgical Engineering OR Associate's degree in Applied Science, Welding Technology or related field Five years of proven ability in welding engineering and in metallurgy-related job responsibility Completed American Welding Society Welding Inspection course and hold an AWS Certified Welding Inspector Certificate Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart: Associate's degree in Applied Science, Welding Technology, based on experience Experience in welding and repairing carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum castings Five years of validated experience in manufacturing, construction, or Nuclear Industry Confirmed understanding of GTAW, SMAW, GMAW, FCAW welding processes Experience with C-spec WeldOffice Software Experience working with products needing ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, PED, and IBR certificationOur Offer to You:We recognize the importance of employee wellbeing and know that to do your best you must have flexible, competitive benefits plans to meet you and your family's physical, mental, financial, and social needs.
