Overview:
At LiveOnNY we save lives, provide comfort, and strengthen legacies through organ, eye and tissue donation for the 13 million New Yorkers we serve.Learning & Development Coordinator:Responsible for the effective development, coordination and implementation of all learning and development programs for the organization including the identification of key learning opportunities for departments, individuals and external customers that meets all legal and accreditation training standards. Supervises and provides direction to department staff. This position actively searches, creatively designs and implements effective methods to educate, enhance performance and assess performance. Supports and fosters the mission of the organization and its commitment to organ and tissue donation through education.Responsibilities:Works in collaboration with the Vice President of Human Resources to ensure new hire standard orientation meets New York State and Federal guidelines and reflects staffs job requirements.Obtains and /or develops effective training materials utilizing a variety of mediaDevelops educational curriculums to meet current standards of practice and key learning opportunities for departments. Including individuals and external customers that meets CMS, AOPO, DOH, AATB training regulations.In collaboration with Human Resources Trains and coaches managers, supervisors and others involved in employee development efforts.Collaborates with departments regarding continuing role educationt. Coordinates and facilitates education programs for clinical services, consent training, hospital services, tissue and surgical. Identifies areas for additional education and evaluates on-going educational needs.Obtains and /or develops effective training materials utilizing a variety of media. Manages the Learning Management System (LMS).Recruits, trains, monitors, and evaluates education and training department staff.Provides training opportunities through planning and the development of didactic and skills-based training programs to meet the clinical needs of the organization. Coordinates and facilitates educational programs for hospital designated requestors. Develops CME and CEU education curriculum.Coordinates and develops educational programs for transplant community i.e. donor volunteers and transplant recipient volunteersDevelops and maintains library of resources for clinical staff.Monitors and assesses effectiveness of training programs through on-going evaluations. Manages and evaluates vendors and consultants as they relate to training services.Ensures that on-going improvement plans through education are available to all employees.Reviews skills competency checklists for opportunities for improvement and compliance with annual review processes.All employees, at every level, are empowered and expected to be committed to participate in continuous process improvement.Other duties may be assigned.Supervisory Responsibilities:Manage a Learning and Development Specialist
Qualifications:EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in training/education required; Master degree preferred and/or 5-7 years relevant experience in adult based learning & education. Recent Medical/Healthcare experience s plus.LANGUAGE SKILLS:Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
