Ramp Service Agent ( Full Time ANC Airport Location)

Ramp Service Agents (RSA) at Pegasus Aviation Services are responsible for marshalling aircraft in the gate, loading, unloading and sorting freight and baggage. RSAs are also responsible for servicing security functions, aircraft lavatories, potable water, push back aircraft from the gate, deicing and other duties as delegated.
The RSA position is a support services position whose work routine is established and follows a set of procedures. It generally functions under close supervisory direction or guidance of the Customer Service Reps, Supervisors, or Ramp Managers.
Responsibilities
Marshall aircraft on the ramp (includes directing, assisting and parking all arriving, departing and towed aircraft)
Service aircraft as needed including:
lavatory service.
water service.
cabin cleaning.
other services as needed.
Aircraft de-icing / anti-icing.
Loading and unloading of aircraft baggage and cargo.
Perform safe and efficient operations of all ground service equipment.
Monitoring Security: Vigilantly observing, inspecting, monitoring, and screening all passengers, airport personnel and crew regularly to detect any potential security breaches or safety hazards.
Prevent breaches of security in the area assigned and being prepared to promptly respond to any calls for assistance from the pilot or crew of any aircraft, addressing their concerns and needs swiftly and effectively.
Proactively preventing breaches of aviation security and safety within their designated area of responsibility. This includes taking action to mitigate or resolve any security or safety concerns that may arise.
Conducting comprehensive security screenings for departing passengers and their baggage. Additionally, performing mobile, foot, and static patrols within assigned areas.
Responsible for maintaining safety and security of aircraft.
Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Be at least 16 years of age.
Must be willing to work in inclement weather.
Good communication skills.
Must be a U.S. citizen or show proof of right to work in the U.S.
High School graduate or GED.
Ability to lift 60 pounds comfortably.
Able to fluently read, write, speak and understand English.
Ability to work under stressful situations and tight time constraints in a fast-paced environment.
Self-motivated, team player.
Required to work nights, weekends, holidays, and varying schedules.
Successfully complete a background investigation, including FBI fingerprints, criminal history and pre-employment drug test.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior Ramp Service experience.
De-ice Service experience.
Forklift Operator.
Possess a valid Driver’s License preferred.
Language Skills:
Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Write routine reports and correspondence.
Speak effectively one-to-one and before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Math Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Abilities:
Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram form.
Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Physical Demands: Moderate.
The RSA on occasion may lift or move (with help) up to 100 pounds, and/or more frequently lift or move 60 pounds. RSA’s are regularly required to use hands, talk, hear, bend, climb, stoop, kneel, stand and walk.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus.
RSA’s routinely work outside for a portion and are exposed to all types of weather conditions.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can vary dramatically depending on location and time of day. Use of provided hearing protection or acceptable alternative is required.
