As MHC continues to grow, we have an opening for an Assembler. The Assembler is responsible for fabricating and assembling components for truck equipment from pre-cut metals and raw material. Reads and interprets assembly instructions and item lists to ensure correct measurements and proper installation of parts. Gathers requisite parts, sub-assemblies, and materials to complete assembly project. Performs metal fabrication operations using conventional metal shop equipment, welding processes, and related equipment. Accurately and efficiently assembles parts and sub-assemblies, while ensuring the correct partsand hardware are used and installed correctly. Ensures all assembly operations and components on truck equipment are within specified tolerances. Uses general shop equipment such as impact guns and tools, hammers, wrenches, and a variety of other hand-tools to fabricate and assemble components for truck equipment. Provides general shop support activities in support of fabrication projects and assignments,assisting others when needed. Maintains a neat and orderly work area, performing all work assignments in accordance withsafety, security and business practice requirements, protocols, and policies. Follows standard operating procedures and problem-solving safety, quality, cost and/ ordelivery items in the fabricating and assembly process. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications High school level education or equivalent and specialized training which may be obtained in vocational courses or on the job. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to read, understand, and interpret technical drawings. Ability to meet production and quality standards. Ability to work on assignments that are repetitive in nature and may be moderately complex. Proven decision-making skills and judgment to perform quality checks. Positive attitude and the ability to function in a team environment. Ability to work well and communicate effectively with others. Ability to read a tape measure to 1/16'. Standing over 50% of the time while performing welding operations. Lift and carry various tools, welding equipment and fabricated components up to 125 pounds. Push and pull tool carts, welders, and parts bins. Kneel, squat and stoop 50% of the time while tack welding to reach underneath and on top of equipment. Climb up and down stairs and ladders up to 33% of the time to reach various heights while tack welding and climb on and off truck equipment.
