Pay Rate
$20-22 per hour
Description
Salary Range - $20-$22 per hour
SUMMARY: Must have excellent customer service skills. Performs routine clerical and data entry duties as assigned.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs receptionist duties for Public Works Service Center building.Performs dispatch duties using two-way radio to communicate with employees in the field; relays information to supervision as required.Monitors confined space entry to ensure employee safety.Receives and distributes incoming mail.Monitors CRM service requests for departments. Forwards relevant information to supervisors regarding service calls. Updates CRM as to current status of service call.Maintains relevant departmental information in City Works asset management program.Types/edits correspondence, creates spreadsheets and reports for the departments as directed.Assumes additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by any management team member.
KNOWLEDGE:
Working knowledge of computers and of office practices and procedures.Ability to perform basic office procedures; ability to communicate effectively - verbally and in writing - to maintain orderly and accurate files and records.Ability to establish successful, effective working relationships.Ability to perform required work without direct supervision.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma.Three years of related work experience or any equivalent combination of related experience in an office environment.Successful candidate must possess strong customer service and problem-solving skills with the ability to function independently in a fast-paced, high volume work environment.Proven strong computer skills; Microsoft Word, Excel and database management are essential.
EQUIPMENT: Telephone, computer, copier, fax machine, 10-key calculator, base radio and typewriter.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the position. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit and talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to walk, used hands to finger, handle or operate objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment for this type of work is quiet conditions of a private office or that of moderate noise of computers and printer
