The Director of Safety and Risk Management is responsible for overseeing and implementing risk management programs to ensure the safety of employees and clients. This role involves managing claims, promoting a safe work environment, and overseeing compliance with legal and regulatory standards.Manage the investigation, negotiation, and resolution of claims in accordance with policy provisions and best practicesPromote a safe and healthy work environment to prevent and minimize workplace injuries and associated costsAssist with injury prevention, accident investigations, and monitor claim activityPartner with injured workers, medical providers, and legal teamsOversee claims management and ensure efficient claims adjudicationAnalyze case data and serve as a safety officer to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standardsReview and assess risk management policies and provide supervision and leadership to the workers' compensation teamQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Risk Management, Human Resources Management, Employment Law, or related field, or equivalent experienceCertifications such as Associate in Risk Management (ARM), Certified Risk Manager, Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or other related certifications are a plus10+ years of experience in risk management, insurance, or claims managementIn-depth knowledge of policies, laws, and regulations related to risk management, safety, insurance, and claims managementExperience with the legal system and knowledge of Human Resources laws and policies related to workers' compensationUnderstanding of OSHA and Hazardous Materials (HAZ MAT) laws and regulations
