Canvas Health is a non-profit, Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) specializing in serving clients who are on Medicaid.Position SummaryThe ARMHS staff provide adult rehabilitative mental health services that instruct, assist, and support the recipient in basic living and social skills to individuals with serious mental illnesses or serious and persistent mental illnesses. These activities are to help restore a recipient's skills for managing their illness and everyday independent living. The service areas would include: interpersonal communication skills, community resource utilization and integration skills, crisis assistance, relapse prevention skills, health care directives, budgeting and shopping skills, healthy lifestyle skills and practices, cooking and nutrition skills, transportation skills, medication education and monitoring, mental illness symptom management skills, household management skills, employment-related skills, and transition to community living services. It is collaborative in nature and requires working closely with Community Services, Court Services, private providers, outside resources, and programs at Canvas Health. Requires the ability to drive to individuals' homes or in the community when needed.This position will primarily be serving individuals in Hennepin and Ramsey counties.LocationHybridSchedule40 hours, Monday through Friday, 8am-5pmQualificationsMeet DHS qualifications for a Mental Health Practitioner in one of the following ways:Completed 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours in behavioral sciences or related fields
AND
completed 2,000 hours of delivering supervised services to clients with:Mental illness, substance use disorder, emotional disturbance, traumatic brain injury, or developmental disabilities.
ANDCompletes training on mental illness, recovery from mental illness, mental health de-escalation techniques, co-occurring mental illness and substance abuse, and psychotropic medications and side effects.
ORCompleted 4,000 hours of delivering supervised services to clients with:
Mental illness, substance use disorder, emotional disturbance, traumatic brain injury or developmental disabilities.
ANDCompletes training on mental illness, recovery from mental illness, mental health de-escalation techniques, co-occurring mental illness and substance abuse, and psychotropic medications and side effects.
ORCompleted 2,000 hours of delivering supervised services to clients with:
Mental illness, substance use disorder, or emotional disturbance, traumatic brain injury, or developmental disabilities and
ANDCompletes training on mental illness, recovery from mental illness, mental health de-escalation techniques, co-occurring mental illness and substance abuse, and psychotropic medications and side effects.
ANDReceives clinical supervision as required at least once a week from a mental health professional until the requirement of 4,000 hours of supervised experience is met.
ORCurrently and actively participating in a graduate student internship
AND
is formally assigned by an accredited college or university to an agency or facility for clinical training.
ORCurrently possess a bachelor's degree or higher (i.e. masters) in behavioral sciences or related field
AND
is formally assigned by an accredited college or university to an agency or facility for clinical training.
ORCurrently possess a bachelor's or master's degree with any one of the following:
Possess a master's degree or graduate degree in behavioral sciences or related fields.Possess a bachelor's degree in behavioral sciences or related fields
AND
completes a practicum or internship that:Requires direct interaction with adults or children served.
ANDis focused on behavioral sciences or related fields.
A practitioner is qualified as a vendor of medical care if the practitioner meets the definition of vendor of medical care in section 256B.02, subdivision 7, paragraphs (b) and (c), and is serving a federally recognized tribe.
Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree or higher in social work, family therapy, professional counseling, or psychology or other behavioral scienceExperience as an ARMHS workerExperience working in home.Experience with electronic health records
