Our Environmental Services Department at our Lodi Hospital is looking to add a Housekeeping Aide to our team to create a comfortable and safe environment our patients have come to expect. This position is responsible for the cleaning and disinfecting of patient rooms, restrooms, and various shared areas assigned to your unit.
A caregiver in this position works Evenings, from 3:00pm-11:30pm.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Perform cleaning duties in assigned areas as instructed, according to cleaning schedule for that area (e.g., daily, weekly, monthly, etc.) in a manner that does not interfere with patient care or privacy.
Sweep, Vacuum, dry mop, wet mop, and disinfect as required in each area daily. Strip and wax floors and run high-speed floor buffer as needed.
Dust, damp wipe, spot clean, wash, disinfect, polish all surfaces, and equipment as required according to cleaning schedule.
Remove all waste, trash, and dispose of it properly. Removes all soiled linens when necessary and puts it in designated area for pick-up.
Carry out terminal cleaning procedures when patient is discharged. Prepares room for new occupant. Change cubicle curtains as needed.
Clean linen supply room and assist with other cleaning duties in the laundry as directed, Sort all clean linens and stocks carts for linen distribution for all departments. Check floor linen supplies and distribute as needed.
Ensure that carts and other equipment are clean and functioning properly prior to use.
Keep Manager informed of housekeeping needs and problems in assigned work area.
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
High School diploma or GED.
Experience with hospital/hospitality cleaning procedures.
Experience working with floorcare and related equipment.
