This employee will perform as a bus driver, safely transporting student from home to school to home, on field trips and perform a variety of clerical duties associated with Transportation operations.
Job Summary:
maintain route schedulesupervise students who ride the bus; maintain discipline and report undisciplined students to the principal/sdischarge students only at authorized stops and transport only authorized studentsassist student passengers with school baggage as neededregulate heating and ventilating systems for passenger comfortcomply with local traffic regulations and observe all mandatory safety regulationsreport delays or accidentsclean the interior of the bus regularlyinspect bus and check gas, oil, water, brakes, etc., before departure and report any needed repairs
Qualifications:
general knowledge of routine maintenance requirements of busesability to work independently with minimum supervisions on the job and route are learnedbe at least 18 years of age with at least six (6) months driving experience with a valid operator's licensepossess a valid driver's licensehave or obtain the required Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with "P" and "S" endorsementshave no STOP entry appearing on driving recordhave and maintain a good driving record
Working Conditions:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to site; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; use feet and legs to operate vehicle pedals; drive/ride the vehicle; and talk or hear. The employee must have full range of vision. On occasion the employee is required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, taste or smell.
