OVERVIEWThe successful candidate will provide leadership for project development and execution. Deliver on commitments with respect to cost, schedule, quality, and capacity. Provide single point leadership during project execution and support to contractors. Deliver the project scope safely and be a role model for the project process and safety goals of the client. Working on site at the client’s facility, participating in engineering projects from original concept through construction and project closeout, this includes working with other members of the on-site Design/Engineering Team as well as other on-site discipline groups within the facility.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage front end development through construction and closeout.
Manage multiple projects, budgets, and scope changes.
Offer innovative solutions to clients through business development initiatives.
Assist with bid packages.
Capable of handling multiple projects at different phases of development simultaneously.
Continuous improvement by leveraging best practices and lessons learned.
Develop project execution plans, project risk registers, cost estimates, and schedules.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Demonstrated ability to manage other discipline groups and adhere to all safety standards.
Must be able to go into the field to assess project requirements, climb stairs and ladders, etc.
Strong communication skills and teamwork-oriented.
REQUIREMENTS
Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.
Minimum 10 years of PE/PM experience, preferably on-site experience.
Experience with design, construction, and technical reporting and documentation.
Client-focused.
Committed to technical excellence.
Critical thinking skills for problem-solving.
Strong technical writing skills.
Refinery, petrochemical, or chemical industry experience is a must.
Registered Louisiana P.E. a plus.
All candidates must pass background checks, drug screening, and qualify for issuance of TWIC credentials.
LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to senior management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDSOccasionally, will conduct or participate in a field trip to an operating plant or construction site. This requires normal hearing, the ability to stand, walk, reach, climb, and balance, clear close and distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus. Lifting up to 25 pounds may be required.
