Position Summary

ECODIT is seeking a Communications and Knowledge Management (CKM) Specialist to join the firm’s Home Office (HO) team. The CKM Specialist will assist ECODIT with internal and external communications, facilitate knowledge management and learning, provide CKM expertise and support to ECODIT’s projects and new business pursuits, and grow the firm’s capabilities in development communication and social marketing for behavior change. S/he will work collaboratively with ECODIT HO staff and will report to the ECODIT Director of Communications and Learning. The CKM Specialist will assume the following key roles and responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities

Support ECODIT’s internal and external communications, including through the development and implementation of communications goals and policies, as well as the preparation of guides for oral and written communication for use by the company’s employees and consultants;

Facilitate learning and knowledge management by organizing and supporting internal learning events, compiling and organizing lessons learned, developing libraries of shared documents, etc;

Contribute to the development and implementation of ECODIT’s CKM and Learning Strategy;

Create content for and maintain ECODIT’s website;

Produce or support the production of newsletters, marketing materials, learning materials, and project deliverables;

Support the development of technical proposals through writing, editing, formatting, and/or design;

Provide technical expertise in CKM to ECODIT’s projects in the U.S. and overseas;

Support ECODIT’s sponsorship of and participation in regular industry events, including by designing and procuring marketing materials, and staffing in-person and/or virtual exhibit tables/booths;

Provide graphic design and formatting support and create infographics for a wide variety of documents and deliverables;

Oversee the maintenance of and create new content for the ECODIT website;

Leverage social media channels to maximize the effectiveness of communications and outreach efforts, including by regularly developing and posting social media content;

Oversee compliance with client (i.e., USAID) branding and marking requirements;

Provide support to other tasks, as needed.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, international relations, or other relevant field;

A minimum of five (5) years of experience in the communications and/or knowledge management field, preferably in an international development context;

Excellent technical editing, copyediting, and formatting skills;

Excellent written and oral communication skills in English;

Experience with social media platforms and content creation for platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn;

Experience in planning events and facilitating trainings;

Experience using website content management systems;

Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and Canva and/or other design software;

Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment;

Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

Additional, Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of USAID branding and marking requirements;

Experience working in such technical sectors as gender inclusive development, environment, energy, climate, water, resilience, governance, and monitoring and evaluation.
