Your efforts will help protect the nearby Columbia River and the communities, salmon, and wildlife along its shorelines throughout the Northwest.Sitting at the confluence of the Columbia, Snake and Yakima rivers near two mountain ranges, our community provides access to year-round outdoor recreation, 300 days of sun a year, more than 200 wineries within a 50-mile radius, and the amenities of large cities just a three-hour drive (or short flight) to Seattle and Portland.Job Summary:The Operational Technology (OT) Cybersecurity Engineer operates as part of the OT Cybersecurity group reporting to the Engineering Group Supervisor (EGS).The OT Cybersecurity Engineer has a role in developing and delivering design engineering products to meet Department of Energy (DOE) cybersecurity requirements and security controls. These products will be integrated into other WTP systems and processes.A good knowledge of the design engineering work process and industry OT governance frameworks, procedures, and practices is important to success. The ideal candidate will have experience successfully working with Systems Engineering, OT Cybersecurity, and Control Systems in the specification, design, and deployment of highly reliable and secure environments that meet the customer mandated cybersecurity requirements.The OT Cyber Engineer will be responsible for assisting in reviewing and interpreting cybersecurity requirements and determining appropriate implementations for WTP permanent plant systems. This position will be a critical and individual contributor in the design engineering process; originating discipline deliverables and coordinating activities with multiple functions and disciplines as well as with internal and external stakeholders, as required.The successful candidate must have strong organizational and teamwork skills, proven problem-solving abilities, can-do attitude, and the desire to innovate designs. Additionally, the position requires excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and may require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership.Major Responsibilities:Execute OT Cyber engineering work assignments related to Department of Energy (DOE) engineering requirements, in accordance with the NIST SP 800-53 standard.Perform design assignments involving application of appropriate engineering techniques.Prepare and review conceptual studies, designs, reports, or proposals.Provide design recommendations in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and procedures.Participate in OT Cyber engineering efforts in assigned areas with specialty groups, engineering disciplines, and other functional groups.Provide input and technical guidance to other engineering team members, IS&T, and vendors working on deliverables.Prepare or assist detailed technical specifications, data sheets, and requisitions for IT & control system equipment, review vendor documentation.Provide technical assistance to other OT Cyber personnel and interact with project functions, the customer, and regulatory agency personnel in the resolution of complex regulatory issues and industry codes and standards.Support the implementation of necessary security controls and enhancements on the control systems, as well as reviewing and evaluating cybersecurity implementation as part of a NIST RMF compliance program.Work closely with Systems Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Information Systems and Technology, and other cybersecurity professionals to achieve a common goal.Ensure a highly available and secure environment that meets the government mandated cybersecurity requirements in accordance with appropriate standards.Education and Experience Requirements:Level 1:

BS degree from a US accredited institution in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Systems, Controls Systems or related discipline plus 1-2 years of relevant experience; or without degree, 3-6 years of relevant experience.Level 2:

BS degree from a US accredited institution in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Systems, Controls Systems or related discipline plus 2-5 years of relevant experience; or without degree, 6-9 years of relevant experience.Required Knowledge and Skills:Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical (if located at the construction site), and background check which includes verification of employment and education.Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the Hanford Site. (Even if teleworking, must still be able to comply with security requirements to obtain a badge)Must possess the right to work and remain in the United States without sponsorship.Experience with Systems, Control Systems, Telecommunications, Mechanical, or Cybersecurity Engineering.Familiar with engineering design, procurement, and software configuration processes.Knowledge of OT/ICS systems architecture concepts.Familiar with operating systems configuration, administration, operations, and maintenance.Familiar with industry standard cybersecurity solutions, configurations, and practices, in one or more of the subject areas: directory services, policy, logging/telemetry, networking/telecommunications, or vulnerability management. Awareness of one or more cybersecurity program standards (NIST SP 800-53, NIST SP 800-82, IEC/ISA 62443, or NEI 08-09).Knowledge of cybersecurity requirements, design specification, risk-based assessment, and implementation.Awareness of configuration management practices.Strong problem-solving skills.Excellent oral and written communication, planning, organizational, and collaboration skills.Ability to multi-task, meet tight project deadlines, and execute work independently.Preferred:
