Your efforts will help protect the nearby Columbia River and the communities, salmon, and wildlife along its shorelines throughout the Northwest.Job Summary:The Operational Technology (OT) Cybersecurity Engineer operates as part of the OT Cybersecurity group reporting to the Engineering Group Supervisor (EGS). The OT Cybersecurity Engineer has a role in developing and delivering design engineering products to meet Department of Energy (DOE) cybersecurity requirements and security controls.Major Responsibilities:Perform design assignments involving application of appropriate engineering techniques.Prepare and review conceptual studies, designs, reports, or proposals.Provide design recommendations in accordance with applicable codes, standards, and procedures.Participate in OT Cyber engineering efforts in assigned areas with specialty groups, engineering disciplines, and other functional groups.Provide input and technical guidance to other engineering team members.Prepare or assist detailed technical specifications, data sheets, and requisitions for IT & control system equipment.Support the implementation of necessary security controls and enhancements on the control systems.Ensure a highly available and secure environment that meets the government mandated cybersecurity requirements.Education and Experience Requirements:Level 1: BS degree from a US accredited institution in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline plus 1-2 years of relevant experience; or without degree, 3-6 years of relevant experience.Level 2: BS degree from a US accredited institution in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline plus 2-5 years of relevant experience; or without degree, 6-9 years of relevant experience.Required Knowledge and Skills:Must be able to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check.Must be able to obtain a Department of Energy badge for access to the Hanford Site.Experience with Systems, Control Systems, Telecommunications, Mechanical, or Cybersecurity Engineering.Familiar with engineering design, procurement, and software configuration processes.Knowledge of OT/ICS systems architecture concepts.Strong problem-solving skills.Excellent oral and written communication, planning, organizational, and collaboration skills.Bechtel is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
