The Biopharma, Patient & CDI (C4) team builds and maintains the platforms and capabilities that enable Pfizer Business Units to connect digitally with our external customers and effectively engage and collaborate across teams internally.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Subject Matter Expertise - General
Design and architect AWS infrastructure for technical solutions that address stakeholder needs while adhering to best practices, industry standards, and Pfizer's technology strategies.
Develop detailed technical specifications, system architectures, and implementation plans for AWS infrastructure.
Oversee the implementation of AWS infrastructure ensuring adherence to the defined technical architecture and design principles.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, security protocols, and industry best practices related to AWS infrastructure delivery.
Maintain and evolve infrastructure delivery pipelines including evaluation of emergent technologies.
Collaborate with Principal Engineers to ensure high standards of infrastructure design from project inception and through to delivery.
Identify optimization opportunities to maximize the value of our infrastructure investment.
Design and maintain foundational shared infrastructure services.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must-Have
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
7+ years of extensive experience in solution architecture, technical design, and implementation of complex software systems, with a focus on infrastructure delivered using AWS.
Strong understanding of AWS infrastructure delivery technologies, platforms, and frameworks.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Familiarity with agile development methodologies, project management practices, and software development life cycles.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality, robust, and scalable technical solutions.
Demonstrated expertise with infrastructure-as-code principles with experience specifically gained using HashiCorp Terraform.
Nice-to-Have
Experience gained in the life sciences industry or in a similarly regulated industry.
AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner.
AWS Certified Sysops Administrator, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer.
NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
Candidate will be expected to travel globally to Pfizer locations as needed.
Non-standard work hours may be required based on project deliverables and business needs.
