Tenure Track Assistant or Associate Professor, Information Technology (Beginning August 2025)

The Department of Management and Marketing in the Lombardo College of Business welcomes applications for a full-time tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor position beginning August 2025. Responsibilities include teaching, advising students, scholarly or creative work, and department and university service. Actual assignments will depend upon department needs.Responsibilities include helping to direct and teach in our rapidly growing Information Technology program, advising students, scholarly work, and department, university, and professional service that includes assisting with accreditation and assessment. Courses may include Fundamentals of Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Networking, IT Project Management, and Human-Computer Interaction. This person will be joining us at an exciting time for our college, with new majors, concentrations, and cocurricular initiatives being crafted, as well as a new building. Actual course assignments will depend on department needs and will include mixed modalities.Minimum qualifications required to be considered for appointment at the rank of Associate include:

An earned doctorate and a minimum of five years of full-time teaching experience (or its equivalent) and scholarship commensurate with this rank.A complete application comprises the following:A Cover Letter summarizing how the applicant’s education and experience match the required qualifications of the position.A Teaching Philosophy that includes the applicant’s commitment to inclusive and equitable learning and to working with diverse populations of students.A summary (2 – 5 pages) of Scholarly and/or Creative Activity Plan outlining a 3 – 5 year agenda involving undergraduate or graduate students.Copies of registrar-issued unofficial transcripts for all degrees conferred and in progress (the successful candidate will be required to provide registrar-issued official transcripts from the issuing institution(s) directly to the Provost’s Office by the start date).Three current letters of reference.Required Qualifications:An earned doctoral degree or ABD candidate, with PhD in Information Technology or closely related discipline.Minimum of 18 credits of graduate level coursework in Information Technology.Evidence of a commitment and the ability to successfully teach and serve the learning needs of a diverse and inclusive student population.Experience teaching in the field of information technology as an instructor of record for at least one face-to-face class.Excellent oral, written, interpersonal communication skills.Proficiency in the use of various types of technology relevant to the teaching and learning process.Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues.Successful completion of three background checks.Preferred Qualifications:Earned PhD in Information Technology from a regionally accredited program.Five years of experience teaching undergraduate and/or graduate level IT courses.Evidence of sustained effectiveness in teaching at the University level.Evidence of recent online teaching experience.Demonstrated scholarly experience in Information Technology resulting in peer-reviewed publications.Evidence of course/curriculum development experience.Evidence of service to the university, the community, or the profession.Essential Functions:Supervise interns, practicum students, and graduate assistants as well as thesis and dissertations.Other reasonable duties assigned within the faculty member’s field of competence.Engage in curricular development and evaluation as well as co-curricular, assessment, and accreditation activities.Located in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, Millersville University of Pennsylvania is committed to fostering a learning and working environment that promotes diversity and inclusion.
