The key responsibilities of this position include providing technical guidance, collaborating with the Strategy & Architecture team to define technology solutions to meet business requirements, designing Telecommunications/Network solutions, and providing IT engineering consultation to the business units.This is a technical role responsible for the integration of all technologies used in the WAN backbone, regional/metro/local area networks, data centers, Internet perimeters, wireless infrastructure, and Cloud-based network services. The position is also responsible for understanding and interpreting global technical and business requirements to apply converged technologies globally. This includes participation in discovery, documentation, validation/refinement of solutions while considering opportunities for re-use of standard solutions and technologies.Engineering and DesignManages small to large scale, complex IT projects and applies structured engineering life cycles (Need assessment, design, and implementation) that meet business units' overall objectives. Functions as an Enterprise IT ambassador to cultivate and maintain effective and productive business relationships with business units to ensure IT solutions meet customer expectations. Develops and provides Design Requirement Document consisting of technical & business requirements and engineering design to suppliers. Reviews Supplier proposed designs and implementation projects to ensure alignment with architectural and network security guidelines. Provides knowledge and technology transfer to internal infrastructure organizations and the data delivery staff. Develops and communicates project design and proposal and obtains approvals from all stakeholders (business units management, Technical Relationship Management, and Enterprise IT management). Consults with other service towers on available network solutions and advanced service product options available to meet business units' requirements. Designs customized solutions as required to support Business objectives and goals. Participates in developing RFPs based on requirements, sets up vendor conferences, evaluates bids, and recommends the selected network services or products to the appropriate management entity. Meets with vendors to evaluate product offerings, addresses technical issues/deficiencies, and influences new products.Basic Qualifications10 years progressive data communications experience with at least 7 years developing enterprise telecom engineering & architecture, or 15 years progressive data communications experience with 10 years designing enterprise technologies (MPLS, DWDM, WAN Acceleration, wireless, Internet DMZs, etc). 5+ years progressive data communications experience with focus on digital media convergence (voice/video/data/media). Demonstrated experience in design & engineering large complex IT projects utilizing structured engineering/design life cycle (need assessment, design, and implementation). Cisco, Juniper router, switch, wireless technologies in addition to Cisco and Avaya voice technologies. ITIL and PMBOK foundational project management experience. Demonstrated knowledge/experience in enterprise networking with expert knowledge and experience in technology integration and network design for Media, Broadcast, Studios, Theme Parks & Resorts, and the Entertainment industry. Extensive knowledge and understanding of engineering and architectures including: DWDM, MPLS, TCP/IP version 4 & 6, Wireless & Controller, Ethernet, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, Cisco HW and SW (IOS/CATOS/NX-OS), WAN Acceleration technologies, Firewalls, IPS, Load Balancer, Security protocols (IPSEC/TLS/EAP), TRILL, OTV, QoS, and IP Multicast. Demonstrated technical knowledge of UNIX, application analysis (packet capture analysis), network design, network management systems, and troubleshooting techniques.Preferred QualificationsCisco CCNP, Cisco CCIE, Juniper Certifications, ITIL Foundations, PMBOK or other PM certification.Education:Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, Computer Science, or MathematicsEqual Opportunity Employer
